Duncan Group Homes, Inc. is a private,
not-for-profit agency that promotes independent living skills and
provides assisted living supports for adults with developmental
disabilities.
Duncan Group Homes, Inc. was established in the Duncan community in
May of 1982 with one group home. Since then our services have
expanded to meet the needs of citizens, to now include two group
homes, a 12 unit semi-independent apartment complex, a 20 unit
modern apartment complex, and three other properties in the Duncan
area that serve 4 people with 24/7 staffing available. We employ 29
people from the Duncan community, and serve a total of 33 residents.
Duncan Group Homes, Inc. is guided by a Board of Directors, each of
whom is dedicated to the agency vision to promote the independence
and inclusion of each of our residents in the Duncan community. We
emphasize ability, not disability, and promote the belief that
everyone can learn, everyone can make choices in his or her life,
and everyone can contribute to the environment in which he or she
lives.
Assistive training is provided to residents in all area of life,
depending on their individual needs and their individual level of
accomplishment. Staff works with each person to help him or her
increase skills of independence in housekeeping, cooking, laundry,
money management, personal choices, health and safety issues,
mobility, self-medication administration, social skills and
prevocational skills.
